My Approach to Color Analysis
Through years of hands-on experience, I’ve developed my own approach to color analysis that goes far beyond the basic four-season system. I divide each season into more specific categories, such as Vivid Winter and Deep Winter, and rank them according to how well they suit you.
Even if two people share the same best color palette, their rankings can be quite different, creating a far greater variety of personalized outcomes than even the widely used 16-type approach.
I don’t just tell you which colors suit you—I explain why certain colors work for you and why others may not. I start by explaining the fundamentals of color theory, so even if you’re not confident in your sense of color now, by the end of the analysis, you’ll be able to identify and select colors with confidence. The true value of color analysis isn’t simply knowing your “best colors”—it’s understanding why they work and being able to apply that knowledge yourself.
Session Description
You will receive all the following—a service with a level of detail and care not offered at other color analysis salons:
- The best color options:
Using over 100 colored drapes versatile enough for both everyday wear and special outings, along with tailored drapes made from suit fabric, as well as gold and silver drapes for accessories, the process also includes samples for hair color, nail color, and eyeglass frames. This provides a detailed analysis that extends beyond clothing. - Seasonal Color Chart:
A handy color guide you can easily carry with you while shopping.(Postcard-sized single-sheet) - Detailed personalized color report:
A comprehensive, multi-page report that allows you to review the session in detail. It includes comparison images of you wearing both the best and worst drapes. The report will be sent later via email as a PDF, so there’s no need to worry about remembering every detail from the session.

If you’re interested in finding the best colors for your cosmetics, you can choose the plan that includes the cosmetics consultation. Here’s what you will receive:
- Color evaluation of your personal cosmetics:
Please bring your own cosmetics, and I will assess whether they match your personal color type. - Try sample products:
Explore sample color cosmetics, such as lipstick, eyeshadow, blush, mascara, eyeliner, and eyebrow products, selected based on your color analysis results. See how the right shades complement and enhance your natural coloring. (Foundation is not included, as it is matched to your individual skin tone rather than your seasonal color palette. Sample cosmetics are self-applied, so basic makeup application skills are needed.)
- Makeup Color list (PDF):
Detailed list of specific products for your season, featuring items available for purchase in Japan, including lipsticks, eyeshadows, and blushes. With a total of over 50 cosmetics across these categories per client, this list considers not only your personal color results but also your preferred makeup style. - List of Stores Where You Can Buy Cosmetics (PDF):
This list includes nearly 20 recommended cosmetic stores and department stores in Tokyo, organized by area. You can easily find stores convenient for visiting based on your accommodation or planned activities.
With this, you’ll no longer feel overwhelmed by the endless choices of cosmetics! The list is updated regularly, so you can shop for the latest products right after your session.

Hello there! There are many personal color salons in Tokyo, but I am one of the few color analysts with an official qualification in color expertise recognized by Japan’s Ministry of Education, along with several qualifications in color and fashion.
In addition to my work as a personal color analyst, I have extensive experience as a color educator, providing color training for companies and teaching at schools.
Having lived in Osaka, Tokyo, New York, Vancouver, and London, I value diversity and enjoy working with people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds. I was also one of the early personal color analysts in Japan to offer sessions in English, and all sessions at my salon are conducted entirely in English. Since then, I’ve welcomed clients from around the world and gained extensive experience with diverse skin tones, features, and cultural backgrounds.
My approach combines intuition and experience with a strong foundation in color theory. Rather than simply telling you which colors “suit” you, I help you understand and enjoy color in a way that brings out your natural beauty and gives you greater confidence in your choices.
